How To Have Peace in 2020

Here are some ways from the Bible to experience peace. Of course, there are additional ways to experience peace. What brings you peace? 1) Have a Relationship with the Prince of Peace

  • Isaiah 9:6 - For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.

  • John 16:33 - I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.

  • John 14:27 - Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.

2) Trust God, Receive His Strength and Peace

  • Psalm 29:11 – The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.

  • Isaiah 26:3 - You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.

  • Isaiah 26:12 – Lord, you establish peace for us; all that we have accomplished you have done for us.

3) Respond to the Holy Spirit’s Presence and Leading

  • Romans 14:17 - For the kingdom of God is not a matter of eating and drinking, but of righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit.

  • Galatians 5:22 - But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace

4) Surrender to Jesus’ Peace

  • Colossians 3:15 - Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.

5) Give all Your Worries to God

  • 1 Peter 5:7 - Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.

6) Praise, Pray, and Be Thankful

  • Philippians 4:4-7 – Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.

7) Trust the God of Hope Will Fill You with Joy and Peace

  • Romans 15:13 - May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

8) Do Good and Pursue Peace

  • Psalm 34:14 - Turn from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.

9) Rest in Jesus

  • Matthew 11:28-30 - Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.

10) Stay in God’s Word

  • Psalm 119: 165 - Great peace have those who love your law, and nothing can make them stumble.

You will go out in joy and be led forth in peace; the mountains and hills will burst into song before you, and all the trees of the field will clap their hands (Isaiah 55:12).
